Some online voting solutions say they are "secure" just because they use SSL over the Internet.  That's good, but it's not nearly enough.  BallotBox allows you to know exactly who has voted (authentication) while having no way to connect a voter to his or her vote (anonymity) by encrypting each ballot within our database.  And the encryption also helps us protect the integrity of the results.

BallotBox will email a reminder to your voters as often as you wish. Individuals who have already voted will be automatically excluded from any reminders. There is no extra charge for this service.

You get to decide whether you will also accept paper ballots.  If you do, the paper results you input will be combined with the online results for reporting purposes.

Within BallotBox, you can easily generate a report of the emails that bounced when BallotBox most recently sent an email to your voters.  You can use this information to try to update your voters' email addresses.

BallotBox supports many different types of questions. For example, you can ...

• ask multiple-choice questions — and you decide how many answers a voter can select, and whether to permit write-in answers
• ask short-answer (fill in the blank) questions
• ask ranking questions, where voters rank an option on a scale of 1 to 5, or whatever you select
• ask BallotBox to shuffle the answers to a multiple-choice question, to avoid any appearance of favoritism

Often, a poll you will send next year looks similar to something you asked this year. For example, one year's board election for an organization often looks similar to next year's. BallotBox helps you save time and avoid unnecessary mistakes by helping you clone (copy) an existing poll.

We will take your organization's logo or seal and put it on the top of every ballot. 

Instead of presenting voters with one long page of questions, you can divide the questions in a logical way across multiple ballot pages.

BallotBox Premium allows you to assign each of your voters to a category. Then, you can deploy a poll only to certain categories, or you can pose certain questions on your ballot to some categories of voters, but not to others.

BallotBox Premium allows you to ask a question only to certain categories of voters, or only to voters who answered a previous question within that same poll, in a particular way.

If you need to get voters to vote online but do not have their email addresses, BallotBox will generate a special code for each of those voters, which you can mail to your voters. They will then use their special codes to verify their email addresses with BallotBox. And once you have collected these addresses, you can export them from BallotBox, and use them to update your membership database.

Some of our customers ask a question, and the answers is so sensitive that they want to limit the number of people who can see those resutls. BallotBox Premium allows you to designate a question as "restricted access."

Sometimes, you may need to ask a question multiple times, with only slight changes. For example, you might have a set of 6 questions you want to ask about each candidate for an office in your organization. With BallotBox Premium you only have to create that set of questions one time. Then simply specify the candidates' name with the ballot design. This is also useful if, for example, the wording of the questions change; you only have to change it in one spot.

In some organizations, different members have different voting rights. For example, a homeowner's association may allocate votes based on the appraised value of each member's property wtihin the neighborhood. BallotBox Premium is designed to support these requirements.
